Partner Spotlight: Florida Technology Council
At Defend Main Street Growth, we continue to highlight the importance our members are making in helping American small businesses grow and their stories. Today, we spotlight the Florida Technology Council (FTC), the Tallahassee-based organization representing Florida’s growing science and technology companies. FTC is a friend to Main Street America.
FTC serves as the united voice behind Florida’s rapidly growing technology sector, connecting and empowering the state’s expansive technology community. FTC boasts a diverse professional membership that spans the entire business community. Recognized for its leadership, the FTC is a nonprofit education association providing trusted guidance to state legislators, regulators, CIOs, procurement officials, state agency staff, and municipal leaders.
The Council’s mission is clear: to build a stronger, safer, and more efficient Florida. Recognizing that small businesses are the backbone of the state’s economy, the Council works tirelessly to support them through advocacy, education, and resources. A lower tax burden among its members is crucial to its mission, as it allows small businesses to reinvest in growth, innovation, and job creation. By advocating for favorable tax policies, the FTC ensures entrepreneurs have the financial flexibility to pursue new ideas and expand their businesses, contributing to a stronger and more vibrant economy.
As Congress prepares to debate and consider extending provisions of the package set to expire in 2025, entrepreneurs and small business owners will be critical to making Main Street America’s voice heard. FTC is working with Defend Main Street Growth, which seeks to amplify what its small business members have been advocating for in upcoming tax negotiations:
- Maintain the 21% corporate income tax rate, benefiting over 1.3 million C-corporations in the United States.
- Strengthen incentives for investments in Research and Development (R&D).
- Maintain full expensing for machinery, equipment, and technology investments, encouraging businesses to invest in growth and innovation.
