Blog: Partner Spotlight: Arizona Small Business Association

At Defend Main Street Growth, we are dedicated to highlighting organizations that significantly impact small businesses for the better. This week, we are proud to spotlight the Arizona Small Business Association (ASBA), a powerhouse of support and advocacy for entrepreneurs and small businesses throughout Arizona.

Celebrating its 50th year, ASBA has grown from a small group of businessmen combining resources into one of the largest trade associations in the state. As a non-profit 501(c)(6) membership organization, ASBA is the nonpartisan advocate and resource hub for all Arizona small businesses. Their mission is clear: to foster and empower a thriving small business community by offering dynamic and innovative resources alongside the highest level of advocacy as the voice of small business in Arizona.

One of ASBA’s core strengths lies in its robust advocacy efforts. By representing the interests of small businesses at the state and federal levels, they ensure that the voices of Arizona’s entrepreneurs are heard. This aligns seamlessly with the goals of Defend Main Street Growth. Together, we recognize the importance of maintaining and improving a pro-growth tax system that has been instrumental in fostering a stronger, more competitive business environment since the major tax reforms of 2017.

Washington, D.C., is too far away for most small business owners to get in front of lawmakers regularly, but that’s why Main Street Arizona relies on ASBA to get their stories heard. ASBA is working with Defend Main Street Growth, which seeks to amplify what its small business members have been advocating for in upcoming tax negotiations:

  • Maintaining the 21% corporate income tax rate.
  • Strengthening incentives for investments in Research and Development (R&D).
  • Maintaining full expensing for machinery, equipment, and technology investments.

The passage of the 2017 tax law occurred because entrepreneurs and small business owners played an active role in advocating for its passage. As Congress convenes next year to debate and consider extending the various provisions of the package that expire in 2025, entrepreneurs and small business owners need to step up once more to defend the 2017 law. We stand ready to support this critical effort, emphasizing the importance of continued advocacy to maintain a pro-growth tax system.

As we continue to defend and promote policies that support Main Street America, organizations like ASBA play a pivotal role. Their efforts ensure small businesses have the tools and a favorable environment to thrive.
